Hey, I’d just like to post the itinerary for our Sagada Escape. No definite date, though. But hopefully this 1st week of August, if the weather will be good, we’ll backpack our way to Sagada mountains. Whoopee! Another bonding with my Geek Friends! I’d definitely file a VL J for this one, and if ever it won’t be approved (considering one month stay pa lang ako here hehe), I’d still come with you guys even if it would mean being thrown to hades, now am I exaggerating.

Where to Stay:

George Guest House (09185480405/09206070994)

Pent house rooms ideal for big groups (8 max) (6-min) with T/B with hot shower. These rooms sit 3 floors above with a wide deck on a per head basis at Php 200.00.

Where to Eat:

Sagada Lemon Pie House

Sagada has an undeniably bohemian feel about it but the Lemon Pie House further reinforces this by opening its doors to the town’s local musicians and artists. The restaurant is a few minutes’ walk from the town center – it’s all down hill so don’t worry.

 The prices are as follows:

Lemon Pies: P18.00/slice – P140.00/pan

Egg Pies: P20.00/slice – P150.00/pan

Brewed Coffee: P20.00/cup

Mountain Tea: P15.00/cup

***they also now have blueberry pies, yum, and yum! And pastries. J

Alfred’s Cabin

Famous because of the buttered chicken and sweet and sour pork. The buttered chicken is a delectable dish that utilizes a sauce similar to that used in Buffalo wings. A meal with rice, a meat or vegetable dish and drink would set you back about 150 php (about US$3.50). Since dishes are not cooked before hand, serving times may take up to 10-15minutes.

Cuisina Igorota

Almost unknown by outsiders and serves typical Igorot food. It is best at lunchtime.  You will find it behind St Theodore’s Hospital. Just go inside the hospital and ask. A meal costs P60 and could be pork stew, bones soup, pork chop, sinigang, adobo, chicken etc, all served with generous quantities of local vegetables. There is no glamour here.

Where to GO

  • Kiltepan Viewpoint
  • Lake Danum – is an easy walk away from the town center. Though it is realistically not as stunning as the other locations in town, it still is a very nice venue for picnics and it is often used as a jump off point in going up Mount Ampacao.
  • Mt. Ampacaooffers a majestic view of Sagada and surrounding townships. The vantage point offers a unique chance to catch an awe-inspiring view of the sun as it sets behind the mighty Cordilleras.
  • Bomod-ok Falls (Big Falls) – is one of Sagada’s most visited and sought-after attractions. Despite being one of the few sites of interest that is a few minutes’ hike from the town center, countless visitors still brave the long trek to admire the 200-feet tall column of water as it splashes down on the cold pools below.
  • Sumaguing Cave – A visit to Sagada will never be complete without venturing to one of the best this place might offer. Aptly called as the Big Cave, it is perhaps the most popular and frequently visited place here.

Budget

For 3 days/2nights stay, 4k pesos would be more than enough.

Sagada’s worth being thrown to Hades.

    :)

Your Day 2 sounds exhausting. Big Falls and spelunking in one day?

    Better bring some painkillers.

    :)

    Enjoy your trip.
